Carter stars Chicago PD’s Sydney Poitier Heartsong as a Canadian detective. Here’s how to watch Carter season 1, episode 1 live, on TV and online.

Carter makes its American debut this week, so we’re telling you how to watch Carter online and watch Carter live to check out this new WGN America series starring a familiar face from Chicago PD.

Sydney Poitier Heartsong, who played Detective Mia Sumner over multiple episodes in Chicago PD season 1, stars in the comedy-drama as Detective Sam Shaw. But instead of working gritty cases in Chicago, now she’s working quirky assignments in a small Canadian town. And her career finds itself turned upside down when her old friend Harley Carter (Jerry O’Connell) returns. Not only has he been the subject of a major scandal, he’s also decided he’s going to become a sort of freelance investigator.

This is another twist on TV’s familiar buddy cop genre, with Heartsong’s character playing the serious one to O’Connell’s more light-hearted hero. Kristian Bruun also stars as a truck stop owner who gets pulled into the cases, as well, resulting in some fun summer crime-solving.

Below is all the information you need to watch Carter online or live Tuesday to watch the series premiere.

Here’s how WGN America officially describes the episode:
