Chicago PD recurring guest star Wendell Pierce has returned to his recurring role on Suits. Watch a preview of his latest Suits season 8 appearance.

After making life difficult for Hank Voight on Chicago PD, Wendell Pierce has gone back to making life difficult for Harvey Specter on Suits. He’ll feature in tonight’s episode, and we have a preview of the episode here!

Pierce portrayed Alderman Ray Price in multiple episodes of Chicago PD season 5, with his first appearance coming in the season premiere “Reform” as he tried to stir up public opinion following an officer involved shooting.

That caused him to butt heads with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), though the two briefly teamed up in a later episode to try and talk out a suspect.

While Price gave Voight a headache, that’s nothing compared to the role Wendell Price has played on Suits throughout its run and is reprising in a much bigger capacity during Suits season 8.

His character Robert Zane was one of the biggest rivals to the show’s law firm, complicated by the fact that he was the father of Rachel Zane (former series regular Meghan Markle).

At the end of Suits season 7, Zane agreed to merge his firm with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and his team to save both organizations.

The first few episodes of season 8 have seen Zane butt heads with Harvey over the combined firm’s management and establish his dominance in the office.

Simply put: Ray Price looks easygoing compared to Robert Zane.

Wendell Pierce returns in tonight’s Suits episode, as the firm deals with an attack on another partner, Louis Litt (played by Rick Hoffman). You can see him in the opening scene of the below preview:

While it’s not clear whether or not Wendell Pierce will play Ray Price in Chicago PD season 6, fans of the show who want to see a familiar face—and one playing a similar role—may want to think about tuning into the USA series tonight. Pierce is portraying a lawyer instead of a politician here, but he serves the same function of rubbing the show’s main characters the wrong way.

The writing is outstanding on the show as well, and Gabriel Macht is a more than worthy foe for Pierce to play off of, much like how Price sparred with Voight. If nothing else, it will be a way to fill your Wednesdays until Chicago PD returns next month!
