Chicago Med season 4

Chicago Med was one of two One Chicago series to end last season on a cliffhanger—so is Robert Haywood (recurring guest star Michel Gill) dead or alive? And even if he’s dead, will he continue to menace the hospital, given that Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) has no idea that her dad is a killer or why Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) is next to his body?

Honestly, the answers to those questions don’t matter as much as the show thinks they do. The Robert storyline has far outlasted its welcome. The other unanswered question about Dr. Connor Rhodes’ job offer is kind of a lame duck, too; Colin Donnell was seen at the NBC Upfronts, so he’s almost certainly not leaving, plus the show would be crazy to let him go anyway.

That leaves only one big thing for Chicago Med fans to look forward to from last season: whether or not Manstead gets engaged. There are both reasons for and against the idea.

As far as new developments for the fourth season, the series recently added two new medical students to the recurring roster but neither character sounds that interesting. The show would be better off making use of the recurring characters it’s already got, many of whom were underused during season three.

So our favorite medical drama doesn’t have a ton of excitement circling it right now, unless you count the excitement that it’s back on NBC’s fall schedule so it will hopefully have more episodes than it did last season!
