Chicago PD’s Wendell Pierce now in Jack Ryan season 1

Chicago PD’s Wendell Pierce stars in the new spy thriller Jack Ryan, and One Chicago fans can stream all of Jack Ryan season 1 now on Amazon.

If you’re looking for something to binge-watch this weekend, Chicago PD recurring guest star Wendell Pierce has a new TV series well worth your time.

Pierce, who recurred during Chicago PD season 5 as Alderman Ray Price and served as a new adversary for Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), is now the co-lead in the new Amazon original series Jack Ryan.

Based on Tom Clancy’s character of the same name, Jack Ryan season 1 features a CIA analyst (played by John Krasinski of A Quiet Place and The Office) who is pulled into the field when one of his theories turns out to be true.

Wendell Pierce plays Ryan’s new supervisor, James Greer, who pulls him out from behind the desk and works with him in the field.

If you enjoyed Pierce’s work playing Ray Price on Chicago PD, you’ll get a kick out of him on this show, as his role is even bigger but even better than what he did in One Chicago.

His character is just as no-nonsense in Jack Ryan as he was in Chicago PD, and he serves up even more of an attitude to John Krasinski than he did with Jason Beghe (presumably because his character is now the boss, and he can get away with it).

Plus, his character has his own story, as Greer has ended up where he is under trying circumstances that are revealed in the pilot.

As he chews every scene in which he appears, he’s a delight to watch.

The first season of Jack Ryan is only eight episodes long, and all eight episodes are now available for you to stream on Amazon Prime. That means One Chicago fans can watch all of Wendell Pierce in his new show, and still have plenty of time before the return of Chicago PD at the end of the month.

It caps a busy month for the actor, who is also currently recurring on the USA original series Suits, reprising the role he’s had on that series for several years.
