What should happen

The first thing April Sexton needs to do in Chicago Med season 4 is make a decision on the future of her relationship, which is obviously dependent on what choice her boyfriend makes. However, we’d argue that whatever Choi elects to do with his sister, April needs to stand by her man—and what the two of them have built together.

April and Choi have proven themselves to be the couple who work through their problems rather than fighting about them, so it wouldn’t make much sense if when their first major hurdle comes up, she walks away. They’re not that volatile, especially when they’ve only been together for a few months.

Not only that, but April’s frustration with Choi’s sister feels a little disingenuous considering how she treats her brother. She’s there for Noah (Roland Buck III) in a variety of ways, even some that she doesn’t need to be, like when they’re talking about meal preparation.

Now, Noah is not a thief so it’s not a straight-up even comparison, but April knows what it’s like to have a sibling who has made mistakes. She should understand where Choi is coming from.

Speaking of Noah, having him as the newest resident at the hospital did not lead to as much time with the Sexton siblings as we expected—and most of it was the usual “April over-helping Noah” dynamic we’ve seen before. Chicago Med season 4 would do well to move them along, especially as Noah comes into his own and April has a future of her own to look forward to.
