Where we left off

Almost everything that happened for Sylvie Brett last season did not go well. Much of it involved her personal life. She hooked up again with ex-boyfriend Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), but broke it off with him before it got too serious, saying she wanted to keep things casual.

That wasn’t really what she wanted, though, because Brett and Antonio hooked up again and then Brett became convinced she was pregnant with Antonio’s child. She wasn’t expecting after all, but the pregnancy scare made her change her mind, and tell Antonio she wanted to be with him. Yet it never happened—because Antonio told Brett he was going on a blind date with another woman.

Brett briefly competed with Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) for the attention of a Hazmat officer, then went on a date with a doctor who happened to be married.

She also welcomed her hometown friend Hope Jacquinot (Eloise Mumford) to Chicago, only for Hope to get a job at Firehouse 51—and develop an obsession with Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) that got Hope fired.

Burned by that, Brett lost another friend when a tough call led to a fight with now ex-partner Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund), and after telling Dawson off, Brett wound up breaking down in her car. It was a heartbreaking sixth season for Sylvie Brett in every possible respect.
