Where we left off

Stella Kidd had kind of a strange season during Chicago Fire season 6. She experienced jealousy when her ex-boyfriend and then-roommate Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) slept with new arrival Hope Jacquinot (Eloise Mumford). But in turn, Hope saw Stella as a threat and began to mess with her, first hiding her paycheck and then having her transferred out of Firehouse 51 and into the CFD public relations department!

When the team uncovered Hope’s ploy, she was promptly fired. But then Stella had to confront her lingering feelings for Severide. She had a multi-episode romance with Hazmat officer Zach (guest star Daniel Di Tomasso), but Chicago Fire was clearly using that as a distraction, considering that Stella wound up talking about Severide to Zach.

It wasn’t until Stella’s radio was hit by an exploding bullet during a house fire in the season’s first two-hour movie event that Stellaride was finally back on. Severide and Stella’s romance heated up quickly, surviving the arrivals of his mom and his ex-girlfriend.

But at season’s end, Stella made the surprising decision that while she wanted to date Kelly, she also wanted to take things slow with him. She moved out of his loft, though that didn’t seem to bother him at all—and the happy couple ended the season seeming pretty happy indeed.
