The FBI hunts a mass murderer this week. Watch a sneak peek from tonight’s episode of the Dick Wolf drama in our FBI season 1, episode 2 preview.

A new episode of FBI airs tonight on CBS, so One Chicago Center is giving Dick Wolf fans an early look with a scene from the episode.

Tuesday’s episode is called “Prey” and gives the characters their most complicated case yet. It’s a serial killer, who’s managed to murder a whopping 18 people.

But lest you think you’ve turned into an episode of Criminal Minds instead, the show puts a twist on the plot by taking the Bureau’s investigation in another direction.

Special Agent Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym) and her partner Special Agent OA Zidan (Zeeko Zaki) know that obviously, the traditional case-breaking techniques aren’t working, so they go back to the drawing board.

The agents turn to someone close to the victims, in the hope that they can learn enough from them that they discover something about the killer they didn’t know before.

Still, with almost 20 victims before the episode even starts, “Prey” has put a pretty big challenge in front of them.

The good news for Dick Wolf enthusiasts is that FBI is holding steady for CBS. After a debut that brought in more than 10 million viewers live, the series was able to retain most of that audience last week.

Last Tuesday’s installment “Green Birds” brought in 9.37 million watchers live, which was a decrease of roughly 7.7 percent from premiere week. It was still good enough for the show to be the second most popular show on Tuesday night.

Clearly, audiences are warming up to Agent Bell and Agent Zidan. Check out a clip of the duo on the case below, then check out their next assignment tonight at 9 p.m. on CBS.
