What should Dick Wolf fans watch for in this week’s FBI? Get ready for tonight’s episode with our FBI season 1, episode 4 preview.

The next episode of FBI could be the show’s most “ripped from the headlines” yet, but will that be important to people tuning in for Dick Wolf‘s latest drama?

Tuesday’s episode is called “Crossfire,” and the case of the week involves the federal agents being in pursuit of an active shooter.

Mass shootings are one of the most prominent topics in the national discussion right now, so the show featuring that topic is not a huge surprise.

At the same time, because of how much discussion surrounds the issue and how sensitive it still is, this is something that the CBS series needs to be particularly careful with, too.

There can be a lot of drama in these kinds of episodes, and they’re not new; to name just one example, years ago Homicide: Life on the Street did a two-part episode about a sniper.

Coincidentally, that episode just happened to guest star David Eigenberg, years before he played a main role on Chicago Fire.

So how is “Crossfire” going to be different? And more importantly, how is it going to be timely while it also is respectful of the topic at hand?

Another thing to keep an eye on is if this episode will make more use of Jeremy Sisto. Sisto was fantastic as Cyrus Lupo in the final three seasons of Law & Order, but in FBI he plays a smaller role, since the focus is on the characters portrayed by Missy Peregrym and Zeeko Zaki.

So far, he’s been underused, but perhaps a plot like “Crossfire” that requires all hands on deck will give Sisto some much deserved attention. Learn more about him and the rest of the cast below in this behind the scenes video:
