What should fans watch for in this week’s Chicago Med? Get ready for tonight’s episode with our Chicago Med season 4, episode 5 preview.

If you’re a fan of happy relationships, you might want to brace yourself for what’s about to happen on Chicago Med. Every indication points to tonight’s episode making people very unhappy.

The title of Wednesday’s episode is “What You Don’t Know,” which doesn’t bode well for anybody, because people keeping secrets from each other almost never works out.

Particularly on the hot seat is Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), who officially starts working as an informant for the police during this episode.

That’s a storyline just rife with possibilities for trouble. Not only that, but Will has been established as a character who can act first and think later—remember the whole lawsuit storyline in the first and second seasons?

And if that doesn’t make you nervous, Chicago Med fans already know that the writers will create drama in the Manstead ship just to keep it interesting. The whole “Will gets drunk and kisses another woman” plot is proof of that.

Put those three things together, and this episode is a perfect storm of bad news. It wouldn’t be a shock at all if Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) uncovers what is going on, and gets furious with Will for lying to her.

Or if Will just turns out to be a terrible informant who gets himself into some kind of trouble. Or both.

In other news, “What You Don’t Know” also involves new information coming out about Emily Choi’s (recurring guest star Arden Cho) boyfriend and father of her child, Bernie. Bernie seemed like such a great guy, and now it looks like the show is going to ruin that.

After all, what information could the team uncover that would be good news? There’s a limited amount of things they can find out in their position. It’d be something medically related, like how Bernie has an undisclosed medical condition, or Bernie is doing something untoward.

And that’s a shame. Why couldn’t Emily’s relationship just go well? She has enough to be worried about, since she wasn’t intending to be pregnant. There’s nothing wrong with letting characters have a happy ending now and then, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards for anybody at the moment. The question is just how complicated things will turn out to be.
