Chicago Med season 4, episode 7 preview: The Poison Inside Us
What should fans watch for in this week’s Chicago Med? Get ready for tonight’s episode with our Chicago Med season 4, episode 7 preview.
There is a lot happening in the next episode of Chicago Med, and depending on how far the show’s willing to push the envelope, this could change Chicago Med season 4 permanently.
Wednesday’s episode is called “The Poison Inside Us” and to call it a big deal would be kind of an understatement. The premise is that a dangerous chemical is released inside the hospital, starting an all hands on deck panic.
First of all, that’s a pretty dramatic scenario. One Chicago fans will remember that Chicago Fire had a similar episode a few seasons ago, where Matthew Casey had to deal with a chemical spill that caused a terrible reaction.
But what starts the disaster, which you can discover in our exclusive clip from this episode, adds a second layer on to the story. It makes a human connection instead of the situation being just a random accident.

At the center of this week’s Chicago Med is Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), who’s proved in past episodes that he is the go-to guy when things get really tough. But how will he react when he’s also part of the cause?
Plus, he’s already had enough emotional stuff to wrestle with given the ongoing subplot about his sister and her boyfriend. At what point does he just explode? This week sounds like it could be the one where Choi is finally pushed too far.

There’s something else that isn’t being talked about enough, though: “The Poison Inside Us” is also the episode where Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) finds out where the funding for his hybrid OR came from—and that a certain someone didn’t tell him about it.
That’s going to be an explosive scene for so many reasons. Connor has enough acrimony with his father, then he’s going to be upset with Dr. Ava Bekker (Norma Kuhling) for hiding the truth on top of that. And will his pride in his new workplace be destroyed knowing that it was bought with his dad’s money?
Colin Donnell is excellent at emotional scenes like that. Get ready to watch as he tears Connor down yet again, and we’ll have to see what’s left afterward to figure out how he’s going to recover from another life-changing development. While it’s happening on top of this hospital-wide crisis.
Oh, and if that’s not enough, there’s more of the Ray Burke storyline coming too. Check out this video for even more Chicago Med drama. That’s a lot to pack into 42 minutes after commercials and a lot that Chicago Med fans won’t want to miss!
