FBI season 1, episode 7 preview: Cops and Robbers
What should fans watch for in this week’s episode of FBI? Get ready for tonight’s episode with our FBI season 1, episode 7 preview.
FBI returns to CBS on Tuesday with a new episode, after taking last week off for coverage of the midterm elections. And this episode might get some people up in arms, too.
“Cops and Robbers” features a crew of thieves who are posing as New York police officers so that they can carry out their high-end heists. The Bureau team is called in to put an end to these false cops before it’s too late.
That opens up all sorts of thorny possibilities for the episode, depending on how the writers want to play it.
Will the script create more tension between the real police and the citizens of New York, thanks to the actions of these fake cops? The relationship between police and people is already a hot button topic, and it’ll be worth seeing if FBI decides to address that.

If it does, it could make the episode a little bit bigger than a “case of the week” story. But there’s only so much it can do in that respect, because it won’t be the good cops who save the day—since this isn’t a show about the New York Police Department.
Instead, Special Agents OA Zidan (Zeeko Zaki) and Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym) will be coming in to stop the robberies. That brings TV fans to something that’s a common speed bump in crime dramas.

How will the police be portrayed? Will they help with the investigation, or just get in the way?
On police dramas, it’s not uncommon to have federal agents come in and make things difficult (something that viewers just saw in last week’s Chicago PD). When the show is about a federal agency, it can often be the other way around. What would be ideal is if FBI avoids the typical conceit and makes the NYPD part of the solution.
Or, it could skip all of that and just be a straightforward investigation of the week about stopping some bank robbers. Audiences will have to watch and find out, starting with the sneak peek you can check out below.
