Chicago Fire season 7, episode 8 preview: The Solution To Everything
What should fans watch for in this week’s Chicago Fire? Get ready for tonight’s episode with our Chicago Fire season 7, episode 8 preview.
After spending last week grieving, this week it’s back to business for Chicago Fire. Except there might still be an emotional hangup or two in the equation.
Wednesday’s episode “The Solution to Everything” involves Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) coming back to active duty at Firehouse 51, now that his father has been laid to rest. On many TV shows that would be a step forward.
But longtime One Chicago viewers know that the show loves to write Severide’s self-destructive side. Audiences saw it after the death of his best friend, and they saw it after his then-girlfriend died two seasons ago.
So just because Severide is back, doesn’t mean that Chicago Fire is necessarily done making his life difficult.

And if this episode goes that route, a common theme is how his actions affect others (or are perceived to have affected others). Remember when he was the prime suspect in a fatal car accident, but it wound up just having been carjacked?
So if Severide does something stupid, then it could also have an effect on somebody else at Firehouse 51, especially if it’s on the job. The promo for this week seems to indicate exactly that.
But how will this latest misstep be different from all the ones before? What’s going to make the audience care this time and not just brush it off as more issues in the life of Kelly Severide?

Something else that might be more frustrating in the eyes of Chicago Fire fans is that the show is bringing back Naomi Grossman (guest star Kate Villanova) for another episode. Her last visit quite clearly positioned her as a love interest for Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), although he did keep her from kissing him.
But Naomi isn’t just going to forget that she has a crush on Casey. And more importantly for the viewers, the show has clearly demonstrated how it sees her character. So will it keep pushing the romance angle this week? And if so, how far? Because there’s yet to be any real chemistry there or any proof that Casey needs another love interest. He’s not even legally divorced yet.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, click below to watch a sneak peek where there’s some good news for Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) that audiences will definitely love. Maybe she can impart some advice to Severide and Casey this week, because it sounds like both could use it.
