FBI goes into the woods this week, but how will the Dick Wolf series turn out? Look ahead to tonight’s episode in our FBI season 1, episode 8 preview.

The next episode of CBS‘s FBI is a bit of an adventure, but it also prompts the question: how will Dick Wolf‘s latest show continue to raise the stakes?

Tuesday’s episode, called “This Land Is Your Land,” involves the Federal Bureau of Investigation on a rescue mission to save a chemist before his knowledge of chemical weapons falls into the wrong hands.

Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym), OA Zidan (Zeeko Zaki), and the rest of their team eventually track the bad guys into the woods—presumably for one final showdown that gets twisty since fighting crime is a little harder when you’re removed from resources and running through trees.

It’s an interesting storyline, but the show has gone through a lot of those recently.

Just a few weeks ago, there was “Doomsday” which involved talk about nuclear warfare. And before that, there was “Green Birds” which was about poisoning people.

Now with the plot of this episode, the only big scare the show hasn’t written about yet is some sort of viral outbreak—and we’re only eight episodes into the season.

It feels like FBI is going through some of its biggest story ideas right at the top of the series, which then prompts a question: will it run out of steam later in season one (keep in mind, it has a full season order from CBS, so that’s a lot of episodes)?

Or will the plots on this show keep getting bigger and bigger until the season finale deals with something like the end of the world? We’ll see, but you can’t say the writers are taking it easy with their stories.

Plus, now that Maggie and OA have really started to gel as a partnership, it’ll be fun for TV fans to see them out of their element and fighting bad guys in the wilderness. And it looks like their boss Dana Mosier (Sela Ward) gets in on the fun, too, as evidenced by the sneak peek you can watch below:
