Kate Villanova plays Naomi Graham, Casey’s new love interest, on Chicago Fire. Learn more about her as she continues to heat up Chicago Fire season 7.

Investigative reporter Naomi Graham has arrived on Chicago Fire, and sparks are flying between her and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer). So since it’s clear Naomi will be sticking around a while, we’re giving One Chicago fans a primer on the actress who plays her.

TV fans probably won’t recognize Kate Villanova, because she doesn’t have a lot of small screen credits yet.

Her most prominent role was on a streaming series; she appeared in a third season episode of Hulu‘s comedy Deadbeat, starring Tyler Labine (New Amsterdam). Her character was credited simply as “Hot Girl.”

Her movie credits include the movies Skippers, Wedgerino, and The Art of Dreaming, as well as two short films.

The majority of Kate Villanova’s background is on stage. She has more than two dozen theatre roles to her name, including productions of Macbeth (as Lady Macduff) and Cyrano de Bergerac (as Roxane).

The latter is the hero’s love interest, so she’s got some experience in creating romance—albeit one that ends tragically, for those who aren’t familiar with the plot of Cyrano de Bergerac.

Hopefully that won’t be the case with Naomi Graham’s story arc on Chicago Fire. Introduced in “A Volatile Mixture” as an investigative reporter looking for Casey’s help on a story, it was clear by the end of that episode that she was smitten with him, too.

Naomi’s second appearance in “All The Proof” saw her kiss Casey, and in the most recent episode “The Solution to Everything” it was clear that her feelings were reciprocated. It seems like only a matter of time before the two get together, even though it’s only been half a season since Casey and Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) called time on their marriage.

So are Casey and Naomi the next big couple on Chicago Fire? Maybe, or maybe not. The last time we saw them, Naomi Graham had also gotten them both into trouble—continuing to probe that nefarious company that’s responsible for the trailer park fires, which prompted the company to have somebody spying on Casey and Naomi.

It’s not out of the question that Naomi could have something terrible happen to her; she’s already proven that she’ll go pretty far to get what she wants, and that wouldn’t be the first time in One Chicago history that somebody is intimidated, kidnapped, or has something else bad happen after they ask too many questions.

And even if they make it out okay, Casey and Naomi’s relationship could burn out. So it’s hard to tell what’s in store for her, but Kate Villanova has certainly been turning heads, and Naomi Graham has become a character fans will want to keep an eye on.
