Chicago Justice’s Joelle Carter appearing in Dirty John

Former Chicago Justice star Joelle Carter has booked a role in Bravo’s miniseries Dirty John, starring Connie Britton and Eric Bana.

Fans of Chicago Justice alum Joelle Carter will want to tune into Bravo for the next few weekends, as she can next be seen in the network’s new drama series Dirty John.

Dirty John is based on the true crime podcast of the same name. It starts Connie Britton (Nashville, Friday Night Lights) as Debra Newell, a woman desperate to find the same success in love that she has in business.

Debra meets John Meehan (Eric Bana, Munich, Star Trek) and the two have a whirlwind courtship. But what she doesn’t know is that John is a dangerous predator, and bringing him into her life will threaten her safety and that of her two daughters.

Joelle Carter plays Denise Meehan-Stewart, and while there aren’t many details being given for her character, the name indicates that she’s portraying John Meehan’s sister.

While Bravo hasn’t confirmed which episodes she appears in or how many of them she’s in, this will be a completely different part for Joelle Carter than her portrayal of hard-nosed investigator Laura Nagel.

In Dirty John, instead of busting the bad guys, she’s going to be related to one. And obviously that won’t be easy for Denise; how do you deal with knowing that someone so close to you is so dangerous and so menacing?

Dirty John premiered last Sunday, but if you missed the first episode (which does set up a fair amount of important backstory) it’s being rerun by Bravo and is also available through their on-demand.

The network removed the full episode from YouTube after uploading it last week, but a sneak peek is still available, which you can watch below before tuning into Episode 2 this Sunday at 10 p.m.

For Chicago Justice fans, it’ll just be good to see Joelle Carter back on TV. She hasn’t been seen as often as her fellow cast members since the show ended, but she’s a tremendous actress who fits so well into the medium of television.

Hopefully her role on Dirty John is significant, because she deserves that. Watch for her starting this Sunday on Bravo at 10 p.m. and check out her Instagram post from the set below:
