3. The whole unit will have to come together

Chicago PD season 6 started with the Intelligence Unit in disarray following the murder of Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas) and the suspension of Hank Voight (Jason Beghe). But all signs point to the episode ending with the team having to rally together if they want to protect themselves.

Firstly, there’s only so long the team can go off in their own directions; the show needs them to work together, in order to keep going. So in a general sense, they have to get themselves on the same page sooner rather than later. And the “tension among the group” dynamic has been well played out over these first eight episodes. Any more would just run it into the ground.

But past that, the first part of the season is crying out for some unification. Antonio is going to need somebody to lean on—his ex-wife’s not happy, his ex-girlfriend has a new love interest on Chicago Fire, and his sister’s in Puerto Rico.

And if his problems are big enough, they’re going to become Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan’s (Anne Heche) problems, and everyone will come together to protect the team from another outside threat. It’d be easy to see Antonio make a big slip-up that forces Voight or all of his colleagues to cover for him. Or what if Atwater’s throwing that gun away comes out?

After all, this wouldn’t be the first time Intelligence has sprung into action to cover up something that one of them has done. And that would be a fine note to end this part of the season on, since it would essentially be business as usual for Voight and company.
