One Chicago ratings report: Week of December 5
Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD ratings are in for the latest episodes. Here’s the Dec. 5 edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.
With another week of the One Chicago season in the books, it’s time to take another look at the franchise’s TV ratings with the One Chicago Ratings Report.
The first week of December was also the last week of the One Chicago franchise for 2019, as it was time for the midseason finales.
It’s no surprise to say that big episodes led to bigger ratings this time around. Not only that, but with the series having been off the air for two weeks beforehand because of NBC‘s holiday plans, audiences were likely ready to rejoin the action.
Leading off the night of Dec. 5, Chicago Med‘s fall finale brought in 8.13 million live viewers. That is 630,000 more than its last new episode back on Nov. 14—a boost of more than a half-million people.

Chicago Med held steady among adults 18-49 with a 1.2 share. But more importantly, the extra people who watched live made it the most-watched show on the five broadcast networks for the whole night!
It was also more than a half million higher than a new episode of Survivor on CBS (which scored 7.49 million live).

At 9 p.m. the midseason finale of Chicago Fire had an audience of 7.91 million eyeballs. That, too, is up significantly: it’s 620,000 more than were tuned in live last time.
It made Chicago Fire the second most-seen show on broadcast TV for the evening. The program also held steady with a 1.2 share in the key demo.
That brings us to the 10 p.m. time slot and Chicago PD, which has struggled so far this season to reach the same numbers as the other One Chicago series. Was it also able to post a major gain in its final week of 2018? Read past the jump to find out!
The Chicago PD midseason finale provided one of the best weeks of its season, with a live viewer base of 6.82 million people.
That’s more than 800,000 extra eyeballs from the 6.01 million who were watching live before; it’s also the biggest growth of the entire One Chicago trio. That’s four-fifths of a million people added to the audience.
It was the fourth-ranked broadcast TV show of the night, with its 1.1 share in the demo being good enough for 8th place out of 15 shows (which tells you how much each point there matters, since the 1.2 of the other two series made them tied for fourth place)!
It’s great to see such a boost for the franchise this week, but that’s also commonplace for many TV shows when they air their season and midseason closers. The real test will be if these bigger numbers continue when the shows return in January. So celebrate your good work this week and be sure to tune back in Jan. 9!
