New Chicago PD and Chicago Med videos have big spoilers
NBC has released new videos for Chicago Med and Chicago PD that give One Chicago fans a glimpse of what’s happening when both shows return.
It’s been less than a week since One Chicago took its midseason break, but NBC is keeping the audience on the hook by dropping promos for the next new episodes.
Over the weekend, a Chicago PD midseason premiere promo was posted to the show’s YouTube channel. There’s also a teaser spot for the return of Chicago Med.
As for Chicago Fire, nothing had surfaced as of Sunday evening, but we’ll update audiences if or when something gets posted.
The bigger question is what can these two new promos tell us about the midseason premieres and potential resolutions to each series’ massive cliffhangers?

The Chicago Med promo confirms what we thought after last week’s finale: that Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) will be back right away.
Will is clearly seen at the hospital with his fiancee Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) while the narration asks if Natalie will “give him a second chance.”
So either he wasn’t in protective custody that long, or the midseason premiere involves a time jump.
Meanwhile, almost as interesting is Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) cold-cocking his father (a returning D.W. Moffett) at some kind of event. It’s good to see Moffett back, as much as we hate to see Cornelius being all smug as usual.
Did Cornelius make another pass at Connor’s now girlfriend Dr. Ava Bekker (Norma Kuhling)? And how much worse will this look for both men when we consider that the former is now a hospital board member? Think about that while you watch the video below:
In contrast, the teaser for Chicago PD doesn’t say much about anything except the cliffhanger that the show paused on. It contains a pretty big reveal, though, so that’s understandable.
Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) decides that he’ll take the fall for Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), planting evidence so that Antonio isn’t busted for murdering the drug dealer that he pushed out a window.
That’s notable considering that Ruzek was all over Antonio for not being loyal at the start of the season. But here’s something else to think about: what will this mean for Ruzek in the long term?

Remember, this is the same character who ran afoul of everyone when he was pressured into being a mole just last season. While he was never actually charged with anything, that’s not good. Neither is his tendency to get rough with suspects. Will the people investigating this look through his whole past and make this even worse for him?
Let’s think about that (and the fact that the video calls him Antonio’s partner, so does that mean Atwater and Burgess are paired up again?) as you watch the video below:
