Chicago Med season 4: Guest stars who should return
When Chicago Med returns, so will some familiar faces. Here are the guest stars we’re hoping to see in the rest of Chicago Med season 4.
New Chicago Med episodes start next month, and when the show returns One Chicago fans will be seeing plenty of guest stars and recurring characters.
These are the characters who help flesh out the show’s universe, and there are many of them who have appeared over the program’s history. Not just from this season, but from seasons past, there are plenty of characters—and a few who would make the current season even better if they were to come back.
These are the recurring characters and guest stars from Chicago Med whom we’d like to have pop up again sometime this season. Check out our picks below, then let us know who you would want to see return in the comments at the end of the article.
Here’s our wish list of guest stars:

3) Robin Charles
There was a possibility at the start of this season that Robin Charles (Mekia Cox) might come back, and having seen the first half, we’re convinced that needs to happen.
The way Chicago Med wrote Robin off last season was frustrating, because it didn’t feel like the best ending. It felt like she was being moved aside so the show could write her boyfriend’s flirtation with his current girlfriend Dr. Ava Bekker (Norma Kuhling).
If the show can bring back Vicki Glass this season, why not Robin? It’d be great to see her come back and get some proper closure for that relationship, and setting all that aside, could you imagine Robin and Ava working on a case together? That would be a great combination professionally.
She might even be able to help Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) with his storyline. Seeing his actual daughter might be helpful as he tries to move on from the protege that he treated like a daughter.

2) Nina Shore
She’s been missing in action for a bit since Patti Murin is starring in Broadway’s Tony-nominated musical Frozen, but her brief scene on Chicago Fire reminded us how much we miss Nina Shore.
There’s just something about Nina (and, for that matter, something about Patti) that lightens up the room. She brings such a positive energy every time she appears. That’s something that this show could use right now, because Chicago Med season 4 hasn’t had a lot of levity or comic relief, and that’s starting to become kind of obvious.
Bringing Nina back would help balance out the overall tone of the show, and there’s plenty of uses for her (we’re still holding out for a scene with Dr. Rhodes). The good news is that producers have already announced that Nina will appear in the second half of the season!
1) Gwen Garrett
Gwen Garrett (Heather Headley) tops our list not because she’s any kind of favorite, but because we just want to know what the heck is going on with her character.
When Gwen was introduced at the end of the third season, we had hopes for a bureaucrat who could have some excellent discussions with the hospital staff about the ongoing business versus patient care debate. Even though she was going to be an antagonist, we had hopes that she’d be a fully realized one, especially with decorated stage actress Heather Headley playing her!
But that hasn’t been the case. Gwen playing the Halstead brothers when their father was on life support was an extremely low blow, and made her character out to be someone we not only didn’t like but actively hated. She needs to come back so we can figure this out—is Chicago Med going to try and explain that and flesh her out, or is she just going to be this show’s villain of the season?
