Warren Christie’s The Village premiere date announced
The Village, starring Chicago Fire alum Warren Christie, has a premiere date. Find out when it starts and which other Dick Wolf actors are involved.
The Village has landed one of the plum spots on NBC‘s 2019 schedule.
The network announced Tuesday that the new series, which features Warren Christie in his return to NBC after a recurring role on Chicago Fire, will debut on March 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
That’s a Tuesday, which means The Village will be taking the time slot of freshman medical drama New Amsterdam. More importantly, its lead-in will be NBC’s most prestigious show, This Is Us.
Once This Is Us finishes airing its third season, then The Village will move up an hour to assume its 9 p.m. time slot, starting April 2.

This is good news for anyone who’s been keeping tabs on the drama about the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building, which was originally announced back in May.
The fact that NBC is using This Is Us as the lead-in shows that the network is putting a lot of support behind The Village. It’s giving the show a strong, and more importantly, compatible lead-in.
That will hopefully put The Village on more people’s watch lists this spring, and One Chicago fans should already have it on their calendars.

Aside from Warren Christie, who recurred as Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) friend Scott Rice on Chicago Fire, the main cast includes two more stars who are well-versed in the Dick Wolf world.
There’s Lorraine Toussaint, who appeared in the backdoor pilot of Chicago Justice reprising her role from the original Law & Order. Michaela McManus, who portrayed an ADA on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit but more recently was seen in CBS‘s SEAL Team, is also a regular.
So if you’ve enjoyed either of Dick Wolf’s franchises there’s every reason to watch The Village. And with its premiere date, NBC is giving it a very strong chance to succeed.
