What’s happened so far

The theme of Chicago Fire season 6 for Sylvie Brett has been about moving on. She had to deal with the realization that her partner Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) wasn’t coming back, and it hit her pretty hard. Brett even confronted Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) about Dawson, but she made peace with her friend’s departure when Casey passed on a parting gift from Gabby.

Brett has been adjusting to new partner Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) and her new job title as the Paramedic in Charge. That process has gone pretty much how One Chicago fans expected it would: she’s had to rein in Foster in some respects, take charge of situations, and of course there was the talk about how her new partner compares to her old one.

Sylvie has also moved on with her romantic life as well. After spending last season getting back together with ex-boyfriend Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), she was nudged toward new firehouse chaplain Kyle Sheffield (recurring guest star Teddy Sears) by Foster. Brett got to know Kyle over a few episodes, and there was cute awkwardness on both sides.

In the Chicago Fire midseason finale, Brett asked Kyle to dinner and he accepted—so she has a new partner and a new love interest, only nine episodes into the season! Will more change for her in the next 13 episodes?
