What should fans watch for in Chicago PD’s midseason premiere? Get ready for tonight’s episode with our Chicago PD season 6, episode 10 preview.

When the Chicago PD midseason premiere airs tonight, it will feel like a classic episode—because once again, the Intelligence Unit is doing bad things for the greater good.

The idea of operating by their own moral code, and of breaking the rules to uphold the law, is the central concept of the entire series. Wednesday’s episode “Brotherhood” is another situation that will invoke that mantra.

Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) is in a heap of trouble after the man who kidnapped his daughter fell to his death. In the name of not letting Antonio hang, Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) will end up getting his own hands dirty.

You’ve seen this story before, but it’s never been this ironic.

It’s ironic because Antonio now needs someone to help him, after he didn’t help Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) at the end of last season.

To be fair, their predicaments aren’t the same—Voight committed cold-blooded murder, while Antonio’s situation was an accident. But there’s still irony there.

It’s ironic because the people Antonio’s fate is in the hands of are Voight and Ruzek, who was particularly furious that Antonio didn’t support Voight. The tables have now turned, so what will they do?

Spoilers released before this episode prove Ruzek is sticking by the loyalty argument he gave Antonio at the start of the season, but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to talk to Antonio about it.

He could decide to be petty and point out the irony, or he could wind up being the ally that Antonio needs. It’ll be a lot of fun to see how Ruzek plays it, because he’s changed a lot this season, and he might not do what he would’ve done a few seasons ago.

Plus, how will Ruzek’s choices affect his relationship with Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos)? There will almost certainly be a ship angle to the story, since Chicago PD has placed such an emphasis on the Ruzek and Upton romance this season.

Upton came into the show with a strict moral code, but she’s bent that code the more time she’s been around Voight and company. Will she bring the old Upton back now and object to what Ruzek is doing? “Brotherhood” could be as much about them as it is about Antonio.
