One Chicago ratings report: Week of February 13, 2019
Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD ratings are in for the latest episodes. Here’s the Feb. 13 edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.
With another week of the One Chicago season in the books, it’s time to take another look at the franchise’s TV ratings with the One Chicago Ratings Report.
There were some changes in the numbers this week, though not much change in the competition, so it was a bit of a strange week for our favorite shows.
After two weeks with over 9 million viewers Chicago Med took a sizeable ratings hit this week. It had 8.81 million people watching live, compared to 9.33 last Wednesday (-520,000).
Where did more than half a million people go? It appears at least partly over to ABC, because the only broadcast TV show that gained viewers at 8 p.m. was The Goldbergs (from 3.60 to 4.77).

Chicago Med was still the most-watched show on broadcast TV during Wednesday night, and in the key demographic of adults 18-49, it remains in second place behind FOX‘s The Masked Singer (1.3 to 2.4).
That means it’s not worth being hugely alarmed about, since in the big picture sense, the show is still on top. But it is definitely a big decrease, and what makes it even stranger is that neither of the other two series had that problem.

Chicago Fire drew in an audience of 8.52 million live viewers at 9 p.m. That, too, was also down this week. Its previous number was 8.78 (-260,000).
The show held steady in the rankings; it was second in total viewers and third in the demographic for another week, though the 18-49 demo number ticked down slightly from 1.3 to 1.2.
At the end of Wednesday night, Chicago PD got brownie points for being the only One Chicago show to gain viewers this week. It went from 7.38 to 7.58 million (+200,000), which also means it has added live viewers for two consecutive weeks.
The show was fourth in total viewers and dropped one place among adults 18-49. It went from third there to tied for fourth place with The Goldbergs; both had a 1.1 share.
Kudos must be given to Chicago PD because it’s slowly improving its audience, and that’s what One Chicago fans have been hoping for the show to do all season. What’s worth discussing this week is the number of people who tuned out of Chicago Med; that’s not a trend we want to see continue, and it’s not entirely clear what caused it.
Are people getting tired of certain storylines? Did this particular episode not have a strong enough hook or promo? Or is this just an odd week? We’ll keep an eye on this and let you know how One Chicago fares next week.
