Chicago PD spoilers: Is Ray Price going to be the next victim?
Chicago PD spoilers for the next episode make it sound like Alderman Ray Price is in trouble, and might not make it out of Chicago PD season 6.
Is Chicago PD about to get rid of another Alderman?
SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers and speculation about next week’s Chicago PD season 6 episode.
The official description for the season’s next episode, “Pain Killer,” reveals that one of Chicago’s mayoral candidates is “shot by an unidentified sniper.”
Since only two of them have been seen or even mentioned this season, that means either Superintendent Brian Kelton (John C. McGinley) or Alderman Ray Price (Wendell Pierce) is going to take a bullet when the show returns on Mar. 27.

And based on other information that’s been made available previously, the safe bet is that it’s going to be Price.
Chicago PD cast both Price’s wife and daughter just last month. Nicki Micheaux (Good Trouble) is playing his wife, Alicia, while Alexis Louder (The Originals) is portraying his daughter Jasmine.
Fans have been wondering what role Price’s family would play in the season, and it makes perfect sense to have them on if he’s going to be shot.
After all, his daughter and his wife would be by his side in the hospital—if they’re not standing there beside him when he is hurt. They could be witnesses to the shooting.
Even if they’re not there when it happens, they’d be a big part of the investigation, because Intelligence has to question everyone who’s close to Price or involved in his campaign. So the casting news is a big clue that “Pain Killer” is targeting him, not Kelton.
There’s another, off-screen reason that Chicago PD likely has Price in its crosshairs. Wendell Pierce is an incredibly in-demand actor; he was recently written out of his other recurring role as Robert Zane on USA‘s Suits because of his commitment as a series regular on Amazon‘s Jack Ryan.
Those time constraints would also obviously apply to his work here as well. If the show lost him for an episode or two because he was off filming one of his other roles, or knew that it wouldn’t be able to have him in the future because of them, then shooting Price would be a solution for that as well as incredibly dramatic.

He could survive the shooting if there’s room to do more with the character—or he could not if he isn’t able to come back. Either way, the plotline works well for the writers; they get a big episode and they can work around Pierce’s availability (or lack thereof).
Audiences will find out for certain when Chicago PD returns on Mar. 27, but it’s not looking good for Alderman Ray Price.
