Chicago PD questions to answer: Kim Burgess
Chicago PD season 6 has unanswered questions, including about Kim Burgess. Here’s what we want to know about Marina Squerciati’s character.
While One Chicago fans wait for the season to resume, we’re passing the time by looking at the characters with the biggest problems to resolve—including Chicago PD‘s Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati).
We’ll break down Burgess’s big issue below, then tell us what you think she should do in the rest of the season in the comments at the bottom of this article.
What’s the problem?
Burgess has jumped into bed with Blair (guest star Charles Michael Davis), who happens to be working on the mayoral campaign of her boss’s sworn nemesis Brian Kelton (John C. McGinley).

What should she do?
Once again, it seems like Burgess is unknowingly stuck in the middle. She knows that Blair works for Kelton, and that Kelton isn’t as good as he looks, but she may not know the complete extent of his crimes or the fact that Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) has now made it his mission to take Kelton down.
Just like last season, Burgess will have to choose between her personal life and her loyalty to Voight and the Intelligence Unit.
And it will probably be an easy choice—not only because her relationship with Blair is still very new, but because Charles Michael Davis has another role recurring on ABC‘s For The People. Even if the writers wanted to keep Blair and Burgess together, he may not be available.

What does it all mean?
If you’re feeling a little deja vu when it comes to Burgess in Chicago PD season 6, you’re not that far off. This plotline is similar to what happened with her last relationship, when she got dumped by U.S. Attorney Matt Miller (Zach Appelman) because she chose helping Voight’s case, screwing up Matt’s investigation in the process.
It’s a bit frustrating that the show couldn’t come up with something different for Burgess, and that she’s going to get her heart broken for the second season in a row. But she ought to move on into a new relationship somewhere, because Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) isn’t coming back for all the Burzek fans.
Maybe Blair will realize his boss is evil and help put him away before he ends up getting written out? That’d at least be a semi-happy ending, and something that wouldn’t be as hard on Kim. But we’ll have to see what happens next Wednesday.
