Chicago Fire season 7, episode 17 preview: Move A Wall
What should fans watch for in tonight’s Chicago Fire? Get ready for Move A Wall with our Chicago Fire season 7, episode 17 preview.
Though it’s great that Chicago Fire is back in action, things are not well around Firehouse 51 in this week’s new episode.
Wednesday’s installment, which is titled “Move A Wall,” sees Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) get into a disagreement with Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) after a slip-up on a call. When last One Chicago fans saw him, Casey was almost getting shot and clearly struggling.
Is his behavior in this episode a little more intense because he still has issues to deal with? Or is he solely upset because of the mistake? Is this a one-off story point, or is the show hinting that there might be something deeper going on in his head?
After the season Casey’s had, either one is possible.

In other news, Chicago Fire is about to turn two of its characters into amateur detectives again. With Casey otherwise occupied by arguing with Herrmann, this time it’s Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd (Taylor Kinney and Miranda Rae Mayo) that set off to uncover the truth behind a fire call.
Firehouse 51 does so much investigating that they could open up their own private investigator’s office by now. So what’s going to make this storyline any different from the other ones that fans have seen in past seasons, or even in this season with the trailer park fire?

Other than that, keep an eye on whether or not “Move A Wall” is setting up for what’s become a One Chicago staple. This season, across more than one show, it’s been common for a traumatic event to be used as the impetus for a big change or reveal about a relationship.
While nothing terrible is happening to Severide or Stella that we know of—Stella’s already almost been killed once this season during the first crossover—could they get involved in something here that makes one or both of them reconsider their status as exes?
Certainly, Kelly didn’t look happy when he found out Stella was spending time with another man. So he’s not entirely over her, and could Stella see something in Kelly or something that happens that prompts her to think twice about breaking up with him? It’s more possible than you may think given how One Chicago has played out a few storylines this season.
