FBI season 1, episode 18 preview: Most Wanted
What should fans watch for in tonight’s FBI episode? Get ready for Most Wanted with our FBI season 1, episode 18 preview.
This week’s episode of FBI is special, because it’s the backdoor pilot for the FBI spinoff that’s in development, FBI: Most Wanted.
Tuesday’s installment is fittingly also called “Most Wanted,” as it introduces a new task force from the Federal Bureau of Investigation that hunts down the country’s most sought-after criminals. Its whole purpose is to get TV fans familiar with these characters and that premise, as CBS considers building its own Dick Wolf franchise.
To that end, fans of the show would do well to keep in mind that this episode is meant to serve the idea of a spinoff. While the regular characters are present and involved, a large portion of the plot will be about the newcomers.
They include Alana de la Garza, who is a veteran of the Dick Wolf universe. She previously starred as Assistant District Attorney Connie Rubirosa on Law & Order, briefly reprising the role as a series regular on spinoff Law & Order: Los Angeles and also guest starring on Law & Order: SVU.

De La Garza is no stranger to procedural spinoffs, or even to this network. In addition to her stint on LOLA, she’s coming off two seasons as the female lead on CBS’ Criminal Minds spinoff Beyond Borders, where she portrayed Special Agent Clara Seger.
Her addition will probably hook a wide cross-section of viewers: Wolf fans who remember and loved her as Rubirosa, and CBS viewers who enjoyed her as a part of the Criminal Minds universe.

It’ll be interesting to see if “Most Wanted” gives her character Isobel Castille any scenes opposite Jubal Valentine, since Jeremy Sisto co-starred with her on Law & Order. The two are seen together in at least one scene, according to promotional photos, but it’d be great if they get actual substantive interaction together.
The rest of the cast is a mixed bunch. Julian McMahon is portraying the agent who leads the team into the field, and he’s not necessarily the actor you’d expect to fill that role; he’s still well known for playing a fairly bad guy himself in Nip/Tuck. Will audiences warm to him as the hero? Also here is Kellen Lutz, and most people will think of him as “the guy from Twilight.”
So there are some different faces here, and that could either be offbeat or a pleasant surprise. After all, sometimes some of the best TV characters are the ones you don’t see coming.
