Chicago PD season 6, episode 18 preview: This City
What should fans watch for in tonight’s Chicago PD? Get ready for This City with our Chicago PD season 6, episode 18 preview.
Politics are still in play during this week’s Chicago PD, which adds a political angle to a familiar topic for the One Chicago series.
Wednesday’s episode “This City” has the Intelligence Unit working another gang-related case, which fans know is a frequent angle here. A lot of investigations on the show involve gangs, drugs or both.
Where the spin comes from is that both of the candidates running for Mayor of Chicago will have their fingers in the crime of the week, just like they did last week—and fans saw how that didn’t end well.
Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) will enlist the help of Alderman Ray Price (recurring guest star Wendell Pierce) to try and negotiate peace between two rival gangs.

This is good news as it relates to the Price character, because it means he’s made a pretty quick recovery from being wounded by a sniper last week, unless we have a time jump between these two episodes.
He’s also proven to be a pretty good teammate for Voight when he wants to be. Chicago PD also teamed them up last season, when Price assisted in finding a suspect—before Denny Woods made the whole thing go sideways.

Which brings us to the one thing Chicago PD fans should be concerned about with “This City.” Photos have revealed that Price’s rival Brian Kelton (guest star John C. McGinley) is also back in this episode.
Audiences just saw Kelton bring SWAT cops and screw up Voight’s hostage negotiation in the last episode; is he going to similarly try to think he knows better this time? Especially when he could then show up—or in an extreme case, take out—the man standing between him and becoming the next Mayor?
Last week’s episode “Pain Killer” really didn’t do much to move the mayoral storyline along, so maybe “This City” will do that. If nothing else, we’ll see more of Wendell Pierce, which is always a good thing.
Watch a sneak peek clip from this episode by playing the video below, to see Voight pressure his team to expedite the investigation. Will they be able to save enough time to save a few lives along the way?
