Chicago Med season 4, episode 18 recap: Tell Me The Truth
Ethan and Natalie
Last but not least, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) got the one storyline that didn’t have some other connotation to it. They treated a young woman who’d fallen ill during her tour of Northwestern, but Jenny freaked when they wanted to do an ultrasound. Was she hiding something? Was she pregnant? Was an alien growing inside her?
Okay, the last one obviously wasn’t an option, but when confronted with her test results the girl explained she’d gotten pregnant and ordered abortion pills online. However, she only got one of the two needed pills. Natalie was willing to keep everything a secret from Jenny’s parents, while Choi argued that they needed to know about their daughter’s treatment, since she was a minor. Natalie’s response was “take it up with Goodwin.”
Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) was splitting hairs, telling them to go Natalie’s way until the lawyers said otherwise; then she agreed with Choi. That meant getting parental permission for surgery—which Mom gave but only while insisting that they continue to keep the secret from her husband. See, he wasn’t really Jenny’s father!

A clueless Dad thanked the doctors after Jenny’s successful surgery, while Choi lamented how he wouldn’t know the truth and Natalie replied she “didn’t get you.”
Personally, Choi was surprised when April cancelled their plans to go out and didn’t tell him when she could reschedule. He then found out why when he saw his sister, who was still trying to make it work with Bernie even though Bernie had gone back to his wife.
And Natalie admitted to Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) that she had a new love interest—with Natalie giving Will the nickname “Big Red.” Ha. Chicago Med, you’re not as funny as you think you are. And this episode was just out of control.
