Will and April

Back at the hospital, Will joined forces with April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta). The duo worked on an FBI agent, whom Will knew from his undercover stint; enter his former handler turned neighbor Ingrid Lee (guest star Anna Enger), who revealed to Chicago Med fans that the patient was her partner. It couldn’t have been news to Will, since he had to recognize the guy from somewhere, right?

While Lee was fine, Will suspected more had happened to Sam Pearson than a car accident. Test results revealed that the other man had much more terrible injuries, caused by an exploding meth lab. Sam’s condition worsened, like almost every patient on Chicago Med, but Will was able to get him stable off-screen. He broke the good news to Lee, who still refused to tell him what had led up to the lab explosion in the first place.

In the episode’s closing minutes, “Tell Me The Truth” had Lee admitting that she trusted Will and “didn’t want to burden you” with the complete answer about Sam. It turned out that there had been kids at the lab, and rather than surrender to the FBI, the suspect had blown the whole thing up with himself and his family inside. Lee broke down recalling the scene, but Will was there to comfort her.

Meanwhile, April was taking a phone call from a mystery person (who was not fake abducting anyone). She was not thrilled when Choi showed up at her apartment, to discover that his sister Emily and her baby were now there, too! Well, that’s a change of pace from when April dumped Choi over bringing his sister home.
