Former Chicago Fire recurring guest star Shiri Appleby is appearing in tonight’s Law and Order SVU, but find out which actor you won’t be seeing.

A familiar face from Chicago Fire is guest starring in Thursday’s Law & Order: SVU, while another One Chicago alum will be missing.

Shiri Appleby, who recurred as Leslie Shay’s pregnant ex-girlfriend Clarice Carthage during the first season of Chicago Fire, can be seen in tonight’s SVU episode “Dearly Beloved” as a character called Kitty Bennett.

“Dearly Beloved” concerns Kitty showing up at her therapist’s wedding to accuse him of sexual assault, as you can see in the sneak peek below. The therapist, meanwhile, claims he doesn’t even know her.

This will be Appleby’s second appearance in the other Dick Wolf franchise. She also portrayed the character of Amelia Albers in the SVU episode “Military Justice” back in 2013.

In addition to her episodes of Chicago Fire, the actress has a Chicago Justice connection because future Justice star Monica Barbaro worked with her in the second season of Lifetime‘s UnREAL.

While Shiri Appleby is stepping back into the Special Victims Unit world, another One Chicago performer is not appearing in tonight’s episode.

Philip Winchester isn’t listed in NBC‘s official description for this episode, which indicates that his character Assistant District Attorney Peter Stone will not be seen tonight.

Stone has already been missing from other episodes this season, so this isn’t out of the ordinary, but it’s a little bit painfully ironic since “Dearly Beloved” is the first episode to air since the announcement that Winchester won’t be returning next season.

Lucy Liu directs this SVU season 20 episode, ahead of the premiere of her CBS series Elementary, which returns for its final season on Thursday, May 23. Watch a sneak peek from the episode by playing the video below.
