Kim Burgess takes center stage in the next Chicago PD, according to NBC‘s official description of this week’s episode and the promotional video they’ve released for it.

Wednesday’s installment is titled “What Could Have Been” and is about Burgess (Marina Squerciati) finding out that her new boyfriend Blair (recurring guest star Charles Michael Davis) was murdered while on the way to meet her. Burgess and the rest of the Intelligence Unit begin to investigate Blair’s life and history to figure out who killed him, exposing things that she didn’t know about the man she was sleeping with.

While NBC spoiled this particular plot twist a few weeks ago, this should still be an interesting episode to watch since it’s personal for Burgess and focuses on her romantic life, after the show has spent so much time with Adam Ruzek and Hailey Upton (Patrick John Flueger and Tracy Spiridakos). But is it going to pull some secret of Blair’s out of thin air to explain his death? Or will this be a serious exploration of a character fans didn’t really know either?
