Chicago Fire season 7, episode 19 recap: Until The Weather Breaks
Chicago Fire dealt with a malicious intruder in Until The Weather Breaks. Find out what happened in our Chicago Fire season 7, episode 19 recap.
The latest Chicago Fire episode proved that Firehouse 51 really does have an open door—which once again came back to haunt our favorite firefighters and paramedics.
Wednesday’s installment “Until The Weather Breaks” saw a young child turn up at the firehouse, not telling anyone who he was or how he got there. It didn’t take long to deduce that something terrible had happened to him, while the team also tried to fend off the person responsible.
Elsewhere, Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) once again butted heads with Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) about Stella’s ex-boyfriend, while Chicago Fire might have been dropping a hint about a new couple in the making. Maybe.

An unexpected houseguest
It’s pouring rain outside Firehouse 51, which allows Foster to admit she’s planning to blow off a date with a woman at Firehouse 90. Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) says she thought the woman was straight. “So did she,” Foster replies, before commenting on how Brett was good with Kyle.
She returns to the common room, where everyone else is wasting time waiting for the rain to let up. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) wants to jump a random plane to anywhere; Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) tells him that’s how he ends up in a Turkish prison somewhere. Touche, Severide. He’s not wrong, either.
And then the power begins to flicker, adding some extra drama to this Chicago Fire episode, before Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) returns from a call not knowing that a small child was hiding inside the truck. Is that because of the reported gunshots near the fire? Or something else? And how did the kid fit in there exactly?
Back in the common room Stella Kidd pulls Foster aside to talk about Severide. She thinks Foster shared “a look” with Severide. Hey, it’s Stella’s irrational jealousy rearing its head again! At least this time she admits that she’s potentially crazy. Foster says she understands, before Casey goes to check the lights in the turnout room and finds the stowaway. The kid won’t say anything, so he gets Brett to keep an eye on him before bringing Boden to see their houseguest.
At this point, Chicago Fire has almost everyone crammed into the turnout room waiting for this kid to say anything. Brett even has Boden take Ambulance 61 out of service to stay with the child. Foster thinks he’s traumatized, while Severide suggests knocking on a few doors to see if they can find anyone who might know anything.
