One Chicago ratings report: Week of May 22, 2019
Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med ratings are in for the season finales. Here’s the May 22 edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.
The One Chicago season finales saw all three shows lose viewers week over week, but they still delivered solid numbers to end the 2018-2019 TV season.
The Chicago Med finale “With A Brave Heart” had 7.44 million people watching live. That was a sizeable decrease from the previous episode’s 7.86 million (-0.42, or 420,000 less).
It dropped from the second most-watched show on broadcast TV to the fourth, as ABC dominated the evening with its special Live in Front of A Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s All in the Family and the Jeffersons.
Chicago Med did earn a 1.1 share amongst adult viewers aged 18-49, tying for third place within that group—also down from last week’s second place finish in the key demographic.

Chicago Fire‘s finale “I’m Not Leaving You” pulled in a total of 7.46 million live viewers. That was also a loss from the prior mark of 7.86 million (-0.40, which is a drop of 400,000).
It ticked up from 1.0 to 1.1 among adults 18-49, and tied for third place with Chicago Med in that group.
Overall, Fire also dropped two spots to be the third most-viewed show on broadcast TV for the evening, though it was still the most popular One Chicago series by a slim margin.

To close out the night, Chicago PD‘s audience totaled 6.55 million viewers live. That also fell from the past total of 6.77 (-0.22, or 220,000 fewer people).
As it has for most of the season, PD continued to lag behind the other two One Chicago series both in total viewers (fifth place) and with a key demo share of 0.9 (also good for fifth within that category).
Overall, NBC was more than a half-million viewers behind ABC on May 22 (7.15 to 7.77) so this is a case of One Chicago being beaten by yet another live or special event. It’s disappointing that it was during finale week, but as it was also the final week of the important May sweeps period, the level of competition was understandably high.
