Chicago Fire season 7 DVD pre-order now available
The Chicago Fire season 7 DVD is now available for pre-order. Here’s how to order the latest Chicago Fire DVD release and what we know about it.
It’s official: there will be a Chicago Fire season 7 DVD release. Pre-orders for the box set are now happening, meaning that One Chicago fans will be able to physically own the latest season.
Amazon.com is taking pre-orders for the most recent season on DVD, at a current price of $44.98 for the 22-episode season.
As usual, the set is being released by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. That’s because that is the home video arm of NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC.
What the pre-order listing doesn’t have is the Chicago Fire DVD release date. Right now, the page just says “This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now, and we will deliver it to you when it arrives.”

That’s normally what happens when a retailer knows a product is on the way, but the manufacturer hasn’t formally announced it yet. So fans can start ordering now, in anticipation of getting the set later.
Amazon is offering a pre-order “price guarantee” that means any order placed now automatically gets the lowest price between today and the release date. So while it says $44.98 now, it could go even lower, since we probably have some time until the DVD set is actually out.

Typically, Universal Studios Home Entertainment drops their DVDs in August or September, to stir up excitement for the next seasons—which premiere in September. For example, the previous season 6 of Fire was released on DVD on Aug. 28, 2018; it was about a month ahead of the season 7 premiere on Sept. 26.
Here’s where things get interesting—or not, depending on your point of view. Since the DVD set hasn’t been announced by USHE yet, Amazon doesn’t have any information on special features or technical specs for the collection.
However, don’t expect there to be a lot in either category. Historically, Universal hasn’t included a lot on any Chicago Fire DVD release. One Chicago fans will likely get the crossover episodes from the two other Chicago shows—so two bonus episodes of Chicago PD and one from Chicago Med, enabling them to watch both of this season’s crossovers without having to buy the other two DVD sets.
But that’s about it. The last two seasons haven’t had a single special feature other than including those other episodes.
It’s a disappointment for sure, but this DVD release will still interest people who don’t stream the episodes digitally or just want a physical copy of the season to own. If you want to complete your collection, or just hold onto a backup in case something happens to those digital downloads, think about pre-ordering from Amazon now to get the lowest possible price.
