Chicago PD season 6 DVD pre-order now available
The Chicago PD season 6 DVD is now available for pre-order. Here’s how to order the latest Chicago PD DVD release and what we know about it.
There’s a Chicago PD season 6 DVD release coming fans’ way. Pre-orders have begun for the most recent season, confirming that it’s going to be available to own in just a few months.
Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for the next Chicago PD DVD set, at a current retail price of $44.98 for the 22-episode season.
The collection is being released by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Universal is the home video division of NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC.
There’s not an official release date though. The product page states: “This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now, and we will deliver it to you when it arrives.”

Based on past history, One Chicago fans can likely expect that the DVD set will arrive in late August or early September. Universal tends to release their DVDs in those months because they’re trying to stir up interest in the next seasons, which premiere on NBC in September.
The fifth season of Chicago PD didn’t arrive until Sept. 11, 2018—just a few weeks before season 6 started airing on TV.

What about special features? Well, that’s where it gets a lot less clear. Since there hasn’t been a press release officially announcing this title yet, there’s no official word about what’s going to be included on these DVDs.
But again, if we look at the history of the series so far, fans shouldn’t expect that much from the home video version of season 6. Universal has traditionally not put a ton of content on their DVD editions of not just this show, but any of the One Chicago shows.
They haven’t included any bonus material—behind the scenes, commentaries, gag reels, deleted scenes—in recent years. It’s just not part of their release plans.
Fans can expect that this Chicago PD DVD collection will contain the crossover episodes from the other two One Chicago shows—two episodes of Chicago Fire and an installment of Chicago Med from the two crossovers that happened this season. And that will likely be it.
However, if you don’t stream the episodes or simply want to have a physical copy that you can rely on in case something happens to your digital downloads, then it’s still worth picking up. While the streaming and on-demand options are great, there’s no guarantee they’ll be there a year or two or five from now when you want to watch this season.
We’ll keep fans updated if Universal announces more details, but if you’re at all interested in the DVDs, consider pre-ordering from Amazon so that you can lock in the lowest possible price. It’s a strong possibility it’ll get even cheaper between now and August; the previous seasons are on Amazon for $20 and under right now!
