Chicago Fire season 7 DVD release date and special features
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced the Chicago Fire season 7 DVD release date and revealed the box set’s special features.
One Chicago fans now know when they can own the latest Chicago Fire season, and what’s going to be included in this year’s DVD release.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, which releases the show on the home video market, has officially confirmed that the Chicago Fire season 7 DVD set will be released on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Their press release has also revealed some information that’s bound to disappoint fans: there are no special or bonus features included with this season.
The only extra that Universal is adding are the other two episodes from September’s three-series crossover (the Chicago Med episode “When To Let Go” and the Chicago PD episode “Endings”).
That means no deleted scenes, no gag reel, no behind the scenes video or even any commentary tracks—this set won’t include anything that One Chicago fans haven’t already seen on TV.

Audiences will simply be getting the 22 episodes from the latest season, plus the one episode from Chicago Med and the other installment from Chicago PD.
The DVD set has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $44.98, though it can currently be pre-ordered for $34.99 using the banner link below. That equates to $1.46 an episode, including those two crossover episodes.
For fans doing the math, iTunes currently has the whole season available digitally for $24.99. If you also purchase the crossover installments in HD, that’ll cost you $2.99 apiece, or $5.98. So you could download the same thing for a total price of $30.97—saving about $15 and getting it right now instead of waiting till August.
However, keep in mind that digital prices can go up and DVD prices often go down; season 6 of the show is currently available on DVD for just under $20. So fans who wait, or who prefer to own the season in a physical hard copy, will still want to look at picking up a copy of this set.
You can click the banner below to pre-order your copy through Amazon, which will also lock in the lowest possible price between now and the Aug. 25 release date.
