When will the One Chicago season premiere on NBC?
NBC has officially announced the One Chicago season premiere dates, confirming speculation about when Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med return.
The wait is over: NBC revealed its primetime schedule for the fall TV season on Monday, which means fans have confirmed return dates for the One Chicago franchise.
The network unveiled its lineup for the 2019-2020 TV cycle, including the notation that as fans expected, all three series will start their new seasons on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
That didn’t come as a huge surprise, given that it’s in line with the late September starts that all the shows have had in the past—and that are common for most fall TV series.
In fact, most of NBC’s schedule is staying the same compared to last fall. There are only three freshman programs on the schedule, and no time slot changes for any of the network’s biggest series.
Legal drama Bluff City Law is taking over for The Enemy Within on Mondays at 10 p.m. That project is already highly promoted as it stars Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue, The West Wing) as the patriarch of a Southern law firm.
Two new comedies are coming to Thursdays: choir comedy Perfect Harmony at 8:30 p.m. and political comedy Sunnyside at 9:30 p.m. The pair replace the cancelled Abby‘s and A.P. Bio as NBC is continuing to stick with lighter fare on the night, except for Dick Wolf‘s Law & Order: SVU.
For fans of Wolf’s other franchise, there’s not much to note. Since they’re once again grouped together (something that was announced earlier this spring and promoted during their season finales last month), what happens elsewhere on the schedule doesn’t really affect them.
The important thing is viewers now have official confirmation that the season is starting exactly when they thought it would—which is just over three months away. It won’t be much of a wait at all to find out the answers to last season’s various cliffhangers.
