Chicago Med season 4 was full of drama, but which episodes were the most memorable? Here are the best Chicago Med episodes from this season.

The latest Chicago Med season will definitely be remembered. It was packed full of personal drama and strange professional challenges for the doctors and nurses of One Chicago.

Over 22 episodes, the show saved patients and lost others, welcomed new doctors and said goodbye to a few of the staff, and dealt with the ongoing financial problems, too.

Meanwhile, personal problems for everyone were at an all-time high, and the hospital itself suffered with a fair amount of property damage. It was a wild season, but which episodes were the highlights?

Here are our picks for the three best episodes from Chicago Med season 4; let us know which episodes would be on your short list in the comments at the end of the article.

3) The Poison Inside Us

This episode was a bit of an odd one, as the hospital dealt with a poison scare after a patient’s widower wanted revenge on Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee). And that main storyline was flawed in a few ways, but the subplots made this installment memorable.

Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) showed the true value of his hybrid OR, when he made a desperate call to stay inside the room to help his patient. It was one of Connor’s best medical procedures in a season where a lot of his story didn’t have much to do with medicine.

Meanwhile, we got to see Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) work together, which doesn’t happen that often. It gave the story a fresh feel, and their procedure was also challenging and intense to watch. This was an episode that put the “medical” in medical drama, and showed how talented the characters really are.

2) The Space Between Us

Speaking of strange things happening, this episode had a car plow into the ambulance bay! It was one of those things that popped off the screen to see it, and Chicago Med kept the drama high in that main storyline throughout the episode.

Both Brian Tee and Yaya DaCosta put on excellent performances here, although chalking up Choi’s disagreements to his feelings for April oversimplified what were some difficult decisions. Viewers genuinely didn’t know what the right thing to do was—and that doesn’t happen often on TV. And speaking of actors, let’s give kudos to the actor playing the nurse trapped under the car, because he was excellent in conveying just how scared that guy was.

Plus, the rest of the cast stepped up to support the storyline, and it featured some appearances from Chicago Fire characters, too. All-around, this episode was well acted, well directed and kept us on the edge of our seats.

1) When To Let Go

The sole crossover episode of Chicago Med this season also wound up being its best. This episode had plenty of high drama in it, due it being part of a three-way One Chicago crossover. Something big was happening in almost every scene. But that wasn’t the primary reason for its success.

There was impressive acting throughout this episode, but primarily from the Halstead family: Nick Gehlfuss, Jesse Lee Soffer and Louis Herthum in what would be his last appearance. Pat Halstead was a character who turned out to have more layers than originally thought, and turned out to be a hero in this crossover—even if it ultimately cost him his life.

Then there was the weirdness with Gwen Garrett putting the hospital’s well-being over Pat’s care, and Connor getting into medical ethics with the Firehouse 51 crew. This episode had a lot to sort through, and was a strong episode for this show, not just part of a crossover.
