What will Chicago PD season 7 have in store for Hank Voight? Look ahead as we preview Chicago PD’s new season for Jason Beghe’s character.

With Chicago PD season 7 coming in just a few weeks, it’s time once again to preview the new season for each character and look ahead to fresh episodes.

Where did your favorite character leave off when we saw them last? What are the big facts that fans need to remember before the season premiere? Where should they go next in season 8 for the best outcome? And is that where they’ll actually end up, or what direction is the show likely to take them in based on what we know so far?

Check out our detailed character preview, and let us know your thoughts on where you’d like to see each character go and why in the comments.

In this article, we’re profiling Hank Voight (Jason Beghe).

Where we left off

One Chicago fans know what to expect from Hank Voight by now, and Chicago PD served up more of the same during season 6. In many ways, it was a carbon copy of the fifth season: Voight spent the whole season locked in a battle with a superior—this time Superintendent Brian Kelton (guest star John C. McGinley, who was deliciously evil).

But he soon found out said superior was corrupt, then launched his own plan to take them down, and it culminated in him getting what he wanted through dubious means. Last season it was him orchestrating a set-up that Denny Woods (Mykelti Williamson) fell into, and this season it went a step further: someone, almost certainly Voight himself, murdered Kelton in his own home.

Voight developed a rapport with Kelton’s lackey Katherine “Kate” Brennan (recurring guest star Anne Heche), who ultimately helped him despite being the person who suspended him at the top of the season. He also helped frenemy Ray Price (Wendell Pierce), allowing Price to take the fall for crimes his wife committed.

And Chicago PD ended with Voight possibly walking away for good, but of course that wouldn’t make much sense or Jason Beghe wouldn’t be on the show this season. So what’s really going on with him?
