NBC has released the official photos for season 8, episode 2 of Chicago Fire, and fans can anticipate a couple of extreme rescues ahead for their favorite firefighters.
The October 2 episode, entitled “A Real Shot in the Arm,” will feature Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) along with his girlfriend and fellow firefighter Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) making a save on the lake.
The couple appear to be having fun on their boat before the intense rescue occurs, so perhaps another Stellaride date is on the horizon? Of course, no episode would be complete without the duo springing into action at some point, so it looks like fans will get to see the best of both worlds.
In another slew of photos, it appears as though Firehouse 51 is called to the scene of an apartment complex, or some kind of building where an accident has occurred. Members of Truck 81, Squad 3, and Ambulance 61 are looking up at the scene, so something major must go down during the call.
A new character is shown getting in on the action too. Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) will be introduced during the episode, and it appears that he’s already being put to work alongside his fellow firefighters. Earlier this year, we reported that he’s taken under the wings of Severide, Lieutenant Christopher Hermann (David Eigenberg), and Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer), so maybe this first episode will lead into that.
One thing which remains to be seen from the photo set though is if Brian “Otis” Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov) will be mentioned again after his death in the season 8 premiere. According to NBC’s episode description, Otis inspires Hermann to seek out new partners for Molly’s Bar. So, even though he may not physically be there anymore, it looks like Otis will still influence his friends.
