What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago PD? Get ready for Familia with our Chicago PD season 7, episode 3 preview.

Tonight’s episode of Chicago PD features the Intelligence unit going head to head with a belligerent drug kingpin, who apparently has a thing for the ladies.

According to NBC’s synopsis, the drug lord only works with women, which must be why fans have seen Detectives Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and Vanessa Rojas (Lisseth Chavez), not to mention Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) at the forefront of the promotional photos.

This episode will also serve as Vanessa’s first official day on the job at the 21st. The promo saw Rojas engage in a shootout with a suspect, but we obviously don’t see the end result of her rash decision. Will it make or break her first day in Intelligence? At the very least, it may put her at odds with her new boss, Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), who was seen looking concerned by the situation that took place.

As we saw in the previous episode, Vanessa is obviously more than capable of using her skills to do great policing, but with a high stakes case like this one, will she be in over her head? Of course, pretty much every cop under Voight has had their share of mishaps, so she’s allowed to have room for human error.

Coincidentally, a similar theme will potentially take place on Chicago Fire for newcomer Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), so perhaps it’s the One Chicago way of initiating the newbies into the big leagues.

And although he’s not a newly minted cop, Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) will have his own “first day” back to Intelligence in this episode. Ruzek was last seen getting his badge back from Voight, who pulled a few strings with interim Superintendent Jason Crawford (Paul Adelstein). As for how it will all play out? We’ll have to wait and see.
