The next Chicago Med features the return of a few familiar faces, according to the official photos that NBC has released for this episode.
Wednesday’s installment may be titled “You’ve Got A Friend In Me,” but based on the images for it, it’s more about family. Noah Sexton (recurring guest star Roland Buck III) returns for his second episode this season. Last time he was here, he was getting in over his head, so what’s he going to be doing this week?
Will he be continuing to learn at the hospital, or perhaps causing a wrench in somebody else’s story? After all, his last appearance proved that Noah still has a lot to learn if he wants to be the big-shot doctor he’s trying to be.
Another photo confirms the return of Caroline Charles (recurring guest star Paula Newsome), who likewise has already been seen this season. It looks like she’s supporting Maggie’s story, but is that it? Last we saw her, she had suffered an injury, so is she doing better now, or is that storyline continuing somehow? Or is there another new subplot about her and her remarriage to Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt)?
It’s interesting that the photo choices are highlighting the guest characters and not showing a lot about what the main storylines are supposed to be. Other than a few pics of Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett), who’s spending at least some time with Caroline, we can’t tell anything from here about what’s really happening in this episode. Is that on purpose by the network to avoid spoilers or just an odd selection of images?
Even Maggie’s photos don’t reveal much other than she’s still getting treatment. These images don’t do much to generate excitement for Wednesday’s episode. But perhaps that’s because the network doesn’t want to give too much away. Whatever happens, audiences will also be getting updates on at least two of the show’s recurring characters.
