Chicago Med season 5, episode 7 preview: Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings
What should fans watch for in tonight’s Chicago Med? Get ready for Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings with our Chicago Med season 5, episode 7 preview.
It’s really hard to know what to make of the next Chicago Med, because tonight’s episode sounds like it’s kind of all over the place.
It’s called “Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings,” and the plot has a couple of question marks over its head. Firstly, Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) gets to work with Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) on what NBC describes as a “bloodthirsty” case.
What does that mean? It sounds like a storyline for a Halloween episode, but Halloween was last week. So is this episode airing out of order, or is this just a really weird patient?
Meanwhile, the network is inviting a ton of speculation by saying that a new relationship starts in this hour and one ends up falling apart. Just about every character on the show has been paired off so that also is a head-scratcher.

Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) already dumped her faux fiance last week, so it can’t be that, and with how angry she was at Will, Manstead probably aren’t getting back together immediately thereafter. Plus, it isn’t exactly new, either.
But there aren’t many other options. Does this hint have to do with Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) reconnecting with her ex-husband?

Will Chicago Med cross off the final names on its regular cast list and pair Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) with newcomer Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains), even though that would be out of nowhere?
Or what about Noah Sexton (recurring guest star Roland Buck III) and the would-be gang member now living in his apartment? But we don’t even know if Noah is in this episode. So none of the few options available make much sense.
And whatever you watch this show for, be it the medicine or the romances, you don’t have a lot of clarity.
But as the show moves toward its midseason finale, maybe this is one of those episodes that’s not meant to be a huge installment on its own—maybe it’s laying groundwork for something in the future.
Fans sometimes forget that with anywhere from 18 to 24 episodes in a network TV season, not every one is major. Sometimes, they’re episodes that merely serve to move the storylines or the characters ahead to get to that next big thing. This feels like it could be one of those episodes, and perhaps drop hints about the future.
