What should fans watch for in tonight’s Chicago PD? Get ready for No Regrets with our Chicago PD season 7, episode 8 preview.

This week’s Chicago PD is the Kim Burgess-centric episode we’ve all been waiting for, but will it have the story that we’ve been wanting?

“No Regrets” is almost entirely focused on Burgess (Marina Squerciati), which is important. With the introductions of Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and now Vanessa Rojas (Lisseth Chavez), it’s been harder to peg Burgess’s role on the team, and it feels like her screen time has shrunk, too.

Burgess will get plenty of screen time in this episode, but will it be good for her?

The promos for this episode have revealed that she’ll find out she’s pregnant, presumably with Adam Ruzek’s (Patrick John Flueger) baby, since Burzek have started sleeping together again. And while that’s entertaining, what will it actually mean for their characters?

Obviously, the dilemma for Burgess is that she can’t stay in the rough and tumble world of Intelligence if she’s expecting a baby. There’s a shootout almost every week; it wouldn’t be safe!

But she worked very hard to get there, so she’s not going to want anywhere. And there’s been no proof that Marina Squerciati is leaving the show, either. So what does that mean?

Does Burgess end up riding a desk for some time and further reduce her screen time in Chicago PD season 7? And then she and Ruzek have a baby that skips way ahead in their renewed relationship, that neither of them are ready for?

Or is this the typical TV false alarm, where a show teases a pregnancy and finds some way not be serious—like the first test results turned out to be wrong somehow, or Burgess loses or chooses not to have the baby later on?

That may sound like it fits better long-term, but that’s what shows do all the time, and then it’ll come off as the writers just using the pregnancy to get a quick reaction out of fans. So either way, this episode could get very thorny for Burgess and Burzek fans, if the writers don’t handle the storyline properly.

And that doesn’t include whatever case Chicago PD has lined up this week. NBC hasn’t given out a single detail about what Intelligence is investigating. So what is it, and how much screen time will be given to that as opposed to the personal story? Or will this be a simpler case, because there’s got to be more focus on Burzek?

Watch the promo below and check it out for yourself, but either way this will be an episode that likely gets fans talking. The question is if they’re going to be happy about it, or not so excited when the episode is over.
