Chicago PD actor Josh Segarra is helping FOX celebrate Christmas with a featured role in the network’s new holiday series The Moodys.

Josh Segarra is spreading Christmas cheer with a new part in The Moodys, a limited series which premieres on FOX tonight.

The comedy includes the former Chicago PD recurring guest star—he played Hank Voight’s (Jason Beghe) troublesome son Justin before Justin was murdered—as Marco.

Marco is Sean Moody’s (Denis Leary) nephew, and cousin to Sean’s three kids. But there’s one big problem: Sean’s son Dan (Francois Arnaud, Blindspot and Midnight, Texas) develops a crush on the girl Marco is dating.

The Moodys is based on the Australian program A Moody Christmas, and FOX is airing two half-hour episodes back-to-back on three nights. After tonight’s premiere, the next two episodes will be on Monday, Dec. 9 followed by the last two on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

It’s a chance of pace for Segarra, who’s more well-known for his dramatic work. Aside from his time on Chicago PD, he also recently reprised his portrayal of Adrian Chase in the Arrow season 8 premiere.

But he’s also done comedy. He was a series regular on USA’s short-lived comedy Sirens, which was executive produced and co-created by Denis Leary. Fun fact: that show also starred Kevin Bigley, who has a guest-starring role in The Moodys, though we don’t know if he has any scenes with Josh Segarra or not.

Chicago PD fans will get a kick out of seeing Segarra in a non-serious role; he actually has a great knack for comedy, so he’ll take you by surprise. And as Leary is always hilarious, this should be a fun diversion, especially since there isn’t a new PD episode on tonight anyway.

Watch a preview for the comedy event below, then watch The Moodys premiere starting at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT tonight on FOX. At least this will probably turn out better for Josh Segarra’s character than what happened to Justin Voight!
