You can now stream Chicago Fire on IMDb TV, but there are a few catches that Chicago Fire fans will want to know before binge-watching.

There’s a new place to stream Chicago Fire episodes: IMDb TV, the service connected to Internet Movie Database, announced Friday that it now has streaming rights.

Fans can now stream installments of the first One Chicago show for free either through the IMDb TV homepage, or by going to IMDB TV on Amazon Video.

However, there’s a few things you should know before you start.

First and foremost, the free streaming is because it comes with ads. You’ll have to watch those to see the episodes—they can’t be skipped, and you won’t know how many there are, how long they are, or what they’re going to be.

To be fair, that’s similar to watching on NBC and having commercials. But it’s worth noting, since many people turn to streaming because they want to get away from commercials.

The second thing to know is that this only includes the first six seasons of Chicago Fire. You won’t be able to watch current episodes, or anything from last season either.

So IMDb TV is really for newer fans who are trying to catch up, or people who want to go back and watch an older episode or two (or seven).

That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have value. It’s a great resource if you need to refresh your memory. For example, if Monica Raymund‘s return in the fall finale made you want to rewatch episodes with Gabriela Dawson in them, you can do that now.

That’s even more important since the show doesn’t have a syndication deal, so it’s that much harder to find those old episodes to watch them in the first place, unless you buy the DVD sets or digital copies.

But you don’t have to pay for it with the new IMDb TV deal—making this the only free place to watch Chicago Fire on the Internet.

One last important note: this only covers Fire, and not any of the other One Chicago shows. None of them are currently available through this service. Perhaps that will change someday, but right now it’s only Firehouse 51 fans who are in luck.
