How has Chicago PD season 7 gone for Adam Ruzek? Before Chicago PD returns, we’re reviewing the season for Patrick John Flueger’s character.

Before Chicago PD comes back in the new year, we’re taking a moment to pause and look at the current season for each character. What are the important events that fans need to remember?

What plot developments have been good for each character, and which story points need to be improved? And of course, where could they go next when new episodes start in January?

Click through the below slideshow as we look at Chicago PD season 7 as it relates to Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), starting with:

What’s happened so far

Adam Ruzek was the subject of last season’s cliffhanger, ending it by being arrested for a crime he did not commit. So naturally, Chicago PD season 7 opened with Ruzek needing to get out from jail, and everyone wondering how he was going to get out of his legal pickle. He was bailed out quickly and by the third episode “Assets” we saw Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) cut a deal with the new boss Jason Crawford (recurring guest star Paul Adelstein) to get Ruzek’s charges dropped.

With that wrapped up, Ruzek got his badge back and has continued to get more screen time while the show establishes him as Voight’s new right-hand man. It’s clear how similar he is to the boss and how he’s not afraid to do whatever it takes in order to close a case.

Personally, the fourth episode “Infection, Part 3” sent Chicago PD fans into an uproar when Ruzek, thrilled to have survived the epidemic, propositioned his ex-fiancee Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati). Burgess agreed to come home with Ruzek and the two quickly restarted their old relationship. Once again, things moved fast between the couple—in “No Regrets” Burgess found out she was pregnant with Ruzek’s child.

Adam has told Kim that he’ll support her whatever decision she makes, but as of midseason, she hasn’t chosen what she’ll do with the baby. That’s leaving Ruzek, not to mention all of the fans, in limbo…
