This One Chicago season has seen new friendships grow on Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med. Here are 5 friendly pairings we’re most excited about.

While One Chicago’s romantic relationships get most of the attention, the fandom has also developed some strong friendships. And during these new seasons of Chicago MedChicago Fire, and Chicago PD, we’ve seen a couple of new friendships develop.

Whether it’s been the introduction of new characters automatically creating fresh connections, or existing bonds between co-workers getting developed further, this season has been a intriguing one when it comes to people’s platonic relationships, just as much as their romantic ones. And there are some friendships that particularly have us hooked.

Click through this slideshow to see five new team-ups that we’re excited to see more of in the remainder of this One Chicago season, starting with:

5. Dr. Crockett Marcel and Noah Sexton, Chicago Med

One Chicago fans were first introduced to this pair as a mentor/mentee relationship, as Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) is now Noah Sexton’s (Roland Buck III) surgical adviser. But there just might be an excellent bromance brewing here as well.

If you’ve kept up with Chicago Med‘s newest arrival, you know that Marcel is very exuberant and confident. This made for an surprising pairing between him and April Sexton’s (Yaya DaCosta) brother Noah, who is definitely more soft spoken. Despite this difference, the two were seen exchanging OR horror stories and advice during their first scenes together, and proved to be more alike than we thought.

Noah’s heart is always in the right place in wanting to help others, and he’s shown just how much he’s willing to sacrifice in order to do so. That’s similar to Marcel, who has proven that he will do whatever it takes to save a patient’s life, even if it means risky surgery. The two even bonded over that when Noah told Marcel of his plans to open his own surgery center, which Marcel was impressed with.

They’ve also had a major disagreement, though, which occurred in “Too Close to the Sun.”  Noah had helped a girl named Jacinta a few episodes earlier, and now she was in need of his assistance again. When he asked Marcel if he could step out, Marcel naturally inquired about his mysterious plans.

While Noah did reveal who he was going to meet, he begged Marcel not to tell April. Even though Marcel initially agreed, he did have to betray that trust for the sake of Noah’s safety later in the episode, when Noah was brought into the ER after being attacked by some of Jacinta’s former associates.

Things got even more complicated when Noah’s condition worsened, and Dr. James Lanik (recurring guest star Nate Santana), wasn’t listening to Marcel’s recommendations. Marcel took control of the situation, and thankfully was successful in finishing Noah’s procedure. Noah made a full recovery, and it was all thanks to his new friend Marcel.

Between their extreme thoughtfulness and dedication to their work, it’s easy to see why these two have formed a bond. Of course, only time will tell if that friendship will stay afloat now that Crockett has shared a kiss with April—who is not only Noah’s sister, but the girlfriend of his co-worker Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), someone else Noah deeply respects.
